GitHub, Hugging Face, urge EU to relax open-source AI rules
An open letter from GitHub, Hugging Face, Creative Commons and other tech companies are calling the European Union to relieve upcoming guidelines for open-source artificial intelligence models.The letter prompts policymakers to evaluate some of the arrangements of the EUs Artificial Intelligence Act, declaring that regulating upstream open-source tasks as if they are industrial items or released AI systems would hinder open source AI advancement.
