Officers in the unmarked car and 2 marked police patrol cars followed the sedan to a grocery shop parking lot and uniformed officers got out and approached the car.The driver of the Nissan, later recognized as Nolley, reversed into the unmarked police vehicle, and uniformed officers fired their weapons at the vehicle, the GBI said in a news release at the time. The officer fires at the cars and truck as it drives off and a 2nd officer runs into the video frame with a weapon drawn. The negligent conduct charge and the other violation of oath count stem from the officers firing their guns at the shopping center, where they threatened the safety of a female, the indictment says.The GBI stated at the time of the shooting that one of the rounds fired at the shopping center struck a drug store in a different lot and a woman was cut by falling glass.Filed in Fulton County State Court in October 2019, Nolleys lawsuit originally named Etienne and Varner, as well as the East Point Police Department, the city of East Point, a South Fulton cops officer, the South Fulton Police Department and the city of South Fulton.
